If you regularly process quite a few documents, you can easily assign the macro to a toolbar button, menu item, or shortcut key. It simply deletes them all, leaving your document with none. You cannot delete styles that are predefined. When you are done, close the Styles task pane. For example, the document that you are working on contains many headings with a Heading 1 style applied to them. To delete other styles, repeat steps 2 through 4. Click on Pages to display all the pages of the document in the sidebar. The document has headings, including heading 1 and heading 2, and each has chapter numbering. This will display a sidebar containing 3 tabs Headings, Pages, and Results. I'm working on a document in MS Word 2016 Home & Office edition (and it's the latest up to date version). You will be asked to confirm your action click on Yes. Step 1: To delete an extra blank page that might get added at the end of your document, click the View tab: Step 2: Go to the Navigation Pane. Choose either the Revert To Base Style option or the Delete option from the list of actions. This macro is very powerful-it doesn't ask if you want to proceed, nor does it consider what may be included in the headers and footers. Word presents you with a list of actions you can take.
#Deleting headings in microsoft word zip
The following macro will zip right through each section of a document, deleting all the headers and footers that have been defined. Repetitious, time-consuming tasks are always a prime candidate for macros this is no exception.

(Particularly if you consider that each section can have up to three different headers and footers.)

One way to do this is to simply select the various headers and footers and delete them, but if the document contains many sections, doing so can be very time consuming. If you work with documents you receive from other people, one of the tasks you may routinely need to do is delete all the headers and footers in the documents.
